Craig Tara

Craig Tara is haven's largest site in Scotland and the largest holiday park in Scotland. It really is a great place for a family holiday with an extensive and ever changing list of activities. If you want to book some of the activities or use the evening entertainment venue you do need to purchase a haven play pass available direct from haven. You can do this in advance (4 weeks), this allows you to pre-book activities or if you prefer you can get one on site from park reception. There are plenty of activities that don't require a pass to access, some of these include:

  • Bar & restaurant's
  • Amusements
  • Mini fun fair
  • Playgrounds
  • Beach
  • Explore the local area
  • Heads of Ayr farm* additional cost
  • Nature trail
  • Football pitch
  • Darts
  • Pool table
  • Explore Ayr

If you do choose to buy a play pass for you and the family you can get access to Scotland's largest pool complex. There's slides, tipping buckets, lazy rivers and so much more to discover all included with your play pass. All entertainment is included with a pass, with daytime events for younger ones and evening live shows and bands for adults you'll never be bored. Bonga wonga is the home of all of the kids activities whilst the live lounge is host to the adult shows and the ever popular bingo. Bingo is an extra charge, normally £12 per card you play but who knows you could win big. In all venues there are bars serving soft drinks, alcohol and a variety of cocktails. Finally you can book activities with your play pass, there are some that are free and others with a small charge. Personally I love the segways and go karts, they're a great way to explore the park. 4 weeks before you stay with us you'll be contacted by Haven with the option to purchase passes and pre-book activities.

That's a lot, at this point you're probably thinking you could do with a rest and something to eat. Well there's plenty options available:

On-site there is a Papa John's pizzeria, chopstixs noodles, cooks - fish & chips, burger king, Millie's cookies, costa coffee takeaway, a local store, lighthouse bar and finally brigs of Ayr family restaurant. On a sunny day you may even be able to get an ice cream from the visiting van. That's not all you can get grocery delveries directly to the caravan door or choose from one of the over 20 takeaway's that deliver via just eat, although you'll need to collect these from the main gate. We even have a list of restaurants we personally love in our FAQ, if you fancy getting out of the park.

Finally there's also five bars on site. There is one in each entertainment venue, brigs of Ayr has a bar with big screen TVs, darts and a pool table but the lighthouse bar shows a lot of the sports. There's a final outside bar right beside the playground area with plenty picnic benches.
